No Way Home To Enter 200 Crore Club

By Joginder Tuteja

After finding itself at the seventh spot when it comes to the biggest opening day ever for a Ranveer Singh starrer, ‘83 has moved a spot up by emerging as the sixth biggest opener for the superstar as far as m the first week collections are concerned. It has managed to go past Gunday by a distance, which is incidentally also the only film in the list which couldn’t enter the 100 Crore Club.

This is how the first seven days collections of Ranveer Singh look like:

Simmba – 150.81 crores

Padmaavat – 150.50 crores

Gully Boy – 95.20 crores

Bajirao Mastani – 86.15 crores

Ram Leela – 79.49 crores

‘83 – 71.41 crores*

Gunday – 62.56 crores

Of course all the films in the list that are above ‘83 are quite huge and went on to score centuries (Gully Boy, Bajirao Mastani, Ram Leela), double centuries (Simmba) and triple centuries (Padmaavat). Going by the trends so far, ‘83 would stay below all these movies and the best shot that it has is to come close to Ram Leela (118.70 crores).

The first thing that ‘83 needs to do is step into the 100 Crore Club and aim for that by the third week. Meanwhile RRR is also releasing this Friday and that would mean an uphill journey for ‘83.

As for Spider-Man: No Way Home, it is now a confirmed blockbuster with collections quite close to the 200 crores mark. With around 189 crores already in its kitty, it would be aiming to make the most of the current weekend and in the process enter the 200 Crore Club. Huge indeed!

Meanwhile Pushpa (Hindi) is going strong as well and is approaching the 50 crores mark. Standing around 47.50 crores, the Allu Arjun starrer will easily score half century this weekend and then earn some more before RRR releases this Friday. HIT.

*Estimates. Final numbers awaited

Note: All collections as per production and distribution sources.
